Today we visited the Creative Spark creative community hub in Muirhevnamore in Dundalk. We were greeted by Sarah and Sophie and Sarah then showed us around the facility. It is proposed that there will be a mix of community-based and business activity. A number of businesses have already located in some of the offices and classes in creative writing and comic-book narrative have already been organised.
There seems to be a strong emphasis on green technology in the design and construction of the building and the grounds of the facility also reflect that outlook. Part of our proposed project outlined below will involve planting a young tree and this idea was very well received by Sophie, who has responsibility for the facility’s grounds.
Overall it is a very impressive facility in nice surroundings and it should prove a great resource for both the community and local businesses. Hopefully students such as ourselves will find some role there in the future.
